A Moment of Mindfulness on the Continental Divide

In response to the blog post, The Anatomy of a Life Entrepreneur, I received a few questions, each asking the same in essence: how do I build-up and maintain the physique of the Life Entrepreneur? 

Awareness is your first step. So if you know in which aspect your energy blocks are, you can target those areas. Be kind and patient with yourself, and offer forgiveness daily for yesterday’s blunders. Remember, it is the process not the mastery. This is a journey with no destination – mindfulness and simplified living will make your travels more joy-full.

Moments of Mindfulness are so important, and unfortunately, the easiest and first thing we remove from the schedule. They are things like meditation, yoga, a walk in nature, coffee with a friend, letter writing, journaling, a heart-felt conversation with your child or spouse, or any other single-task presence. Set yourself up for success – schedule your moments of mindfulness and do them early in the day. 

Simplified living has fewer commitments, less stuff, and less baggage. Your time is invested purposefully and intentionally. Consider your time a luxury not to be wasted. Invest your time doing what you love and loving what you do. Only the important, non-urgent matters reap dividends; all others have lower returns. When you invest your time mindfully, you will bring congruency and balance to all the areas of your life. When you make the time to be your highest self, your path will be illuminated – trust and follow the light. 

I have put together a reading resource list according to the aspect of consciousness they emphasize. For the most benefit and momentum, begin with purpose. The first step to get what you want, is knowing what you want. If you have your purpose and are aware of your blocks, spend some time there. One thing to keep in mind: you don’t want to just concentrate on your biceps.
